Big Ideas Learning: Math & YOU Student Edition is part of a seamless and comprehensive curriculum that sparks curiosity and encourages students to make instructional connections, enhancing their deeper-level understanding of mathematics. Every chapter in Math & YOU has a specific career focus that is carried throughout the chapter, including a Career Explorations video interviewing someone in that career about how they use math. Every chapter includes "The Big Idea of the Chapter", a take-home activity for students and families to think about a big idea of math in real life ways. Exercises are embedded throughout the program which encourage students to think about data displays and reason through what might change when the data is modified. The Connecting Big Ideas feature, which occurs four times per course, also challenges students’ understanding of the data and how it relates to their life. Students will connect their prior knowledge to the new concepts they are learning during each Investigate with the Look Back and Look Ahead features. Students will have opportunities to practice conceptual thinking in every lesson with In-Class Practice Reasoning.  Big Ideas Learning: Math & YOU ensures that students develop a strong conceptual understanding of mathematics, dig deeper in their learning, and make connections across content, creating learners who have a solid foundation in mathematics.
